Victorian motorists could be the first in Australia to benefit from the new laws “lemon” to be held soon by the State Government. These laws, although common in many other countries (including parts of the U.S. and Canada), have yet to reach Australia leaving many of us feel that long ago.
Under new proposed laws, drivers who buy vehicles that suffer repeated repairs in the same component, or stand a vehicle that is susceptible to failure of various components in a period of time a vehicle is entitled to exchange or full refund.
A problem that must occur within a specified period from the purchase, yet to be determined, with the overall objective of the new laws that limit the possibility of a maker of repairing the vehicle several times until the end of period guarantee, when the repair costs are then the responsibility of the owner.
